Welcome to the Hope Chinese School Online Registration System for Fairfax Campus (HCS-FX), the Internet Home for HCS-FX students, parents, teachers, administrators and staff.

You need to create a login ID and password, as well as a family and student profile if you want to register the classes at our school. If you just want to see the list of classes we offer, please go to the general information page of HCS at http://www.hopechineseschool.org

After your create a profile, a staff member will review and approve your profile if there is no problem with it. Please note that you will not be able to register any class before your profile is approved. HCS-FX school administrators will review new profiles received regularly, and you will be notified automatically via email once it is approved. Once you have received the approval, please log into the registration system to see the list of classes and register for the appropriate classes you or your kids are intereseted

Before you start, please take time to review our school rules and email rules carefully. These are the rules that govern the propriate use of our services and the online system, and we assume that you agree with the rules when you login and register the classes at our school.

Hope Chinese School at Fairfax

Hope Chinese School is a 501(c)(3) Non Profit organization. Our mission is to provide an educational setting for the people of the Washington metropolitan area to learn the modern Chinese language using Pin-Yin (phonetic writing system) and simplified characters.  We strive to encourage students to cherish Chinese culture and heritage, foster and enhance friendship among Chinese-American community, and contribute to the mutual understanding and appreciation of Chinese and other cultures.

Hope Chinese School at Fairfax (HCS-FX) is one of the five campuses of the Hope Chinese School system. Established in 1996, the Fairfax campus has grown to have over 500 students and offer over 30 Chinese language and cultural classes.

Enrollment

Hope Chinese School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national and ethnic origin in its admission, athletic, educational, hiring, scholarship, or financial aid policies and programs.

HCS-FX offers classes of early school through tenth grade for children of age four and up.

Curriculum

Paralleled with the criteria of the Chinese programs offered in colleges, the standard pronunciation and simplified characters of the Chinese language are used in instruction of all levels, with an exception of a bilingual kindergarten class which is offered to meet the demands of the Families with Chinese Children in Northern Virginia area.

In addition to Chinese language classes, HCS-FX offers such an array of elective classes as Chinese painting, dance, and music, and math skills to promote Chinese art and culture and enhance students’ study skills using Chinese in other subject areas.

HCS-FX opens on Sundays. The Chinese classes are conducted in two equivalent two-hour long sessions, from 1 to 3 pm and from 3 to 5 pm respectively. Elective classes are offered in one-hour period during the hours of 1 to 5 pm.

Parent Involvement

The School welcomes --and expects-- parent involvement. Parents are an important part of the children's education. Parents may volunteer their services, participate in class activities, and attend parent meetings and social events. HCS-FX sponsors and offers various activities and services for parents and grand parents, such as the internal circulation of Chinese reading materials and videotapes, athletic activities, and lectures and discussions on a variety of subjects.
